Faith Over Fear

Whenever I am afraid, Father, I will trust in You. I will praise Your Word. What can man do to me, or to the people I love? Psalm 56:3-4

Father, I need boldness to be like You in this world, but I have to confess that I am afraid. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. Fear is tormenting me because I have not been made perfect in love… yet. So, Father, please teach me to love You with all my heart and with all my soul and with all my mind, and guide me to love my neighbor as myself. 1 John 4:17-18, Matthew 22:37-39

Father, I will not fear, for You are with me. I will not be dismayed, for You are my God. You will strengthen me, and You will help me. You hold me up with Your righteous right hand. You promise to hold my hand; You reassure me: “Fear not, I will help you.” Isaiah 41:10, 13

Lord, help me be strong and courageous. I will not fear nor be afraid; for You are my God, and You are the One who goes with me. You will not leave me nor forsake me. You have not given me a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Deuteronomy 31:6, 2 Timothy 1:7

Father, please strengthen me when my hands are weak, and make firm my feeble knees. Remind me, when I am fainted-hearted, that You have said “Be strong, do not fear! Behold I am Your God and I will come with vengeance... I will come and save you.” Isaiah 35:3-4

With You by my side, God, I am fearless, afraid of no one and nothing. Psalm 27:1 MSG

I will praise You all the time, Lord, because when I pray to You, You answer me. You have freed me from all my fears. When I look to You for help, I am radiant with joy! In my desperation I prayed, and You listened; You saved me from all my troubles. Psalm 34:1,4-6 NLT

Father, keep me in perfect peace because my mind is firmly fixed on You. Help me trust You forever, for in You is everlasting strength. Help me to be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving,  remind me to make my requests known to You, I need Your peace which passes understanding to guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Thank You, Jesus, for giving Your peace to me. You do not give the peace that the world has to offer. My heart need neither be troubled nor afraid. Isaiah 26: 3-4, Philippians 4:6-7, John 14:27

Lord, You are my shepherd; I have all that I need. You make me to lie down in green pastures, and You lead me beside still waters. You restore my soul. You lead me in the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake. Even when I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me. Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:1-4

Lord, sometimes I worry about who will protect me from wicked evildoers, but then I remember You. You have always helped me when I cry out to You; when doubts fill my mind, Your comfort gives me renewed hope and cheer. Psalm 94:16-19

Father, I am so grateful that I do not have to fear, because I am Yours, and it is Your good pleasure to give me the kingdom. Luke 12:32

Fearing people is a dangerous trap that I can easily fall into, God, but when I trust in You, I am safe. After all, I need not fear any enemy, because You Yourself have declared that You will fight for me. Proverbs 29:25 NLT, Deuteronomy 3:22

When I am afraid for someone else:

Oh Father, You are _____’s light and his salvation; whom shall I fear could hurt him? You are the strength of his life; of whom shall I be afraid? Though an army may encamp against him, my heart shall not fear; though war rise against him, in You I will be confident. Psalm 27:1-3
